Even when he's sick he's happy
I stayed home today because Ollie had a fever overnight and this morning it was still there once the paracetamol wore off. We're thinking that it's probably teething although he does have a really runny nose as well. If you saw this video without the background, you'd never know he was sick at all!

Thank You Grumpy and Hillary!
Alex's birthday present was delivered a couple of nights ago. He was already in bed so we left it on the couch and he found it the next morning. He brought it straight to the table and opened it after breakfast. The book is great and the gloves and hat will be really useful ... unfortunately we're going to need them both before too long.

Laughs!
Alex was playing with a roll of wrapping paper this evening. Oliver thought it was hilarious and their laughing had Duncan and I in stitches too. Please excuse the wobbly video ... it's because I was laughing ..... and the lack of trousers on Alex - we're all about easy access for potty training at the moment.

One night before his bath
Oliver wanted to show off his two top teeth. Like Alex he has got them pretty early. Unlike Alex he only got two together (Mum and Dad were pretty grateful .... he didn't seem to suffer as much as Alex did). And that's not snot in his nose ... just a flash reflection lol!

and .... he went exploring. Alex took the lid off the washing basket to help Mum do the washing. Ollie crawled into it and managed to get stuck. He couldn't "push" with his legs or "pull" with his arms because of the lip of the lid. His mean mother laughed at him and made Dad get the camera before she would rescue him.

Alex's 2nd Birthday Party
On Sunday we held Alex's 2nd Birthday Party. Once again we rented the "clubhuis" down the road and I'm thrilled that we did it. The extra effort to carry things down there was worth it. It was a lovely day - sunny but not hot - so the kids were able to play outside and run around.
The birthday cake caused a bit of angst for Mum. I did a trial run - making "Hairy" out of licorice - the weekend before, but when I showed the results to Alex and asked him if it was "Hairy" he said "NNNOOOOOOOOO". Not the response I was hoping for! So - instead, I made some cutouts to put on the cake instead. You can't actually see it in the pics, but they're slightly 3D.

Party Food

At the start of the party ....
and at the end ...

Dad and Alex in his Hairy Maclary shirt
Colouring table

Alex was scared of the jelly when I tried to get him eat it, but our friends daughter Aoife got him to eat a whole lot!
Kids playing, parents chatting

Who was brave enough to give us a drum? Owen's birthday is only a month away Kamini!
Cake!

and the baby corner! Oliver had a little doze.
