It's unbelievable that you (Alex) are one month old. In many respects, you still seems so new, but in others, it feels like you've been around forever. My memory of the birth is so surreal, that I don't believe that I did it.
Looking back, we've achieved so much. We've (I think) conquered breast feeding, grown out of size 1 nappies and the first clothes, started to learn what you want and when and generally just started to relax and chill and enjoy being parents.
I remember at about day 12, all I could think was that the first six weeks would be the hardest, and that I was about to get to two weeks which was a third of the way there. Now, I can't remember when I last wondered how far away it was!
I'm also really proud of the fact that I've been out and about by myself. We've had trips on the tram and bus and visited friends, had coffee and been to "bumps and babies". I've also fed out and about - still to be done in public though.
We have had our ups and downs with sleeping. After the first few days of setting our alarms to make sure that we woke up and fed you every 3 hours, we've learnt that we should just let you do your own thing. Generally, that seems to mean that you feed every four hours at night - the only problem has been that the feeds can take up to two hours, and once you didn't want to go back to sleep at all. Mum was awake between 3.30am and 6am. Needless to say she had to have a nap the next afternoon!
Well - thanks for the first month. We think you're great!
PS love those pimples
